Was walking down the mall in front of the library when two girls earnestly came up to me and asked me to join a bible study group. They seemed to be friendly and forthcoming. I just gave them a thumbs down look. Immediately came their response - Are you a Hindu? Dont you want to experience the beauty of the bible? We are students too. Open up.

I was almost glad that they asked these questions. I was ready to launch into a dialogue about the futility of claiming a system of thought as gospel truth. About how, and for what purpose religions were conceived and how they are being interpreted now. About how, being an atheist or an agnostic in the popular sense does not signify moral decadence. About how each person must arrive at his/her own 'religion' and not become dogmatic about it and etc etc.

But then i realised, these girls were just trying to 'help' others what they sincerely believed in. Why should i be their 'debaser'? I instead just smiled at them, wished them all the best and was back on my way.

When Aldous huxley was involved in a theatrical adaptation of the Brave New World, he was encouraged to introduce lyrics and musical theme into it, otherwise people would never appreciate(understand) it. This is an excerpt of what he came up with... brilliantly ludicrously sublime.

No more Mammy, no more Pappy;
Aint we lucky, aint we happy?
Everybody's oh so happy,
Everybody's happy now!

Sex Galore, but no more marriages;
No more pushing baby carriages;
No one has to change a nappy-
Ain't we lucky, ain't we happy:
Everybody's happy now.

Dope for tea and dope for dinner,
Fun all night, and love and laughter;
No remorse, no more after.
Where's the sin, and who's the sinner?
Everybody's happy now.

Girls pneumatic, girls exotic,
Girls ecstatic, girls erotic-
Hug me, Baby; make it snappy.
Everybody's oh so happy,
Everybody's happy now.

Lots to eat and hours for drinking
Soma cocktails- no more thinking.
NO MORE THINKING, NO MORE THINKING!
Everybody's happy now.

People who realise that there is no meaning to life and hence extract the maximum out of the present circumstances for fleeting satisfaction signifies the actual decadence to me as compared to people who realise there is no meaning to this concept of life and strive to grasp the unchanging. Nietzsche is a jackass. 'Will to power' it seems. Bah.
